Interested in Ham radio? During field day anyone can get on the air! Head over to Pohick Bay Regional Park and meet the members of MVARC and find out more about our hobby.

Where:

Pohick Bay Regional Park Overflow Campground (NOT the main campground)

6501 Pohick Bay Drive Lorton, VA 22079

Near Sites 111-112 (by the open field)

When:

Saturday, June 24th, Noon – Sunday, June 23rd, 11:00 a.m.

Saturday: Setup anytime after 9:00 a.m. Field Day operating begins at 2:00 p.m. Potluck picnic at 6:00 p.m.

Check out is 11:00 a.m.

Notes:

• Entry into the park is free for those living in Arlington, Fairfax and Loudon Counties and the Cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church. Others pay $8 per vehicle. (So if you are not from one of the listed counties/cities, you may want to ride with someone who is.)

• For potluck picnic on Saturday, BBQ meat and sides will be provided. Please bring a side/dessert/something tasty to share if you wish.

• There are no commercial power hookups available at the campground.

• No alcohol is allowed per the park rules.

• There are a few picnic tables with benches, but everyone is encouraged to bring chairs/table/shelter etc. for radioing.

This event is open to the public, not just MVARC members or ham radio operators. Come join us!
